About
Sourcing across borders is harder than it should be.
Most products have a manufacturer behind them, and most manufacturers have no practical route to buyers outside their own country and trade networks. The businesses in between can add real value — logistics, warehousing, local support — but each one adds a margin, and each one stands between the buyer and the maker.
Why GetSourceDirect exists
Finding a manufacturer has traditionally meant trade fairs, agents, import licences and freight relationships. A smaller buyer is priced out before they can ask what something costs, while a capable factory can go years without a buyer outside its home market.
The marketplace exists to close that distance: a place where a business publishes what it makes, and a buyer contacts it directly.
Whether buying direct is cheaper for a given purchase depends on the product, the specification, the quantity, shipping, duties and the terms you negotiate. We do not claim a fixed saving, because one does not exist.
What changes
- The marketplace
- Lists what businesses publish and routes inquiries. It is not a party to any contract, and it does not price anything.
- The manufacturer
- Owns the profile, the listing, the price and the terms, and answers inquiries itself.
- The buyer
- Evaluates published terms, contacts the business, and contracts with it directly.

What we hold to
The seller describes the product
Unit prices, minimum order quantities and terms are written by the business that makes or supplies the goods. We do not write listings on their behalf, and we do not rank them for a fee.
The buyer contacts the maker
An inquiry goes from the buyer to the business they chose. There is no bidding layer, no broker and no account manager in the middle of the conversation.
Nothing unbuilt is claimed
The platform does not process payments, hold buyer funds, operate escrow or manage shipping. That is stated on the pages where a visitor might assume otherwise, not only in the terms.
